Live Performance & Concerts
What links this group isn't polish or genre but the way bodies on a stage or screen become the site where something else entirely erupts — grief, violence, transcendence, obsession. Dance and performance keep showing up not as spectacle for its own sake (though Cirque du Soleil and the Electrical Parade give you that too) but as a language for things too dangerous or too tender to say outright: Lorca's fatalism in Blood Wedding, a couple's whole lifetime of love in Us Again, a marriage's violence disguised as a concert. Even the outliers — a paranoid ballerina-spy, a self-destructing rock star, a killer stalking actresses — share that same charged sense of the performance space as somewhere control can slip and truth gets out.
