Exes and Divorced Couples

The through-line here isn't heartbreak, it's unfinished business: an ex, a former spouse, or an estranged parent keeps resurfacing and forcing a reckoning long after the relationship supposedly ended. That reunion plays out in wildly different keys, comic in "Burying the Ex" and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," rueful in "In Bed with Victoria" and "Trucker," even true-crime tragic in "Untold," but each film treats past intimacy as something that never fully lets go. The result is a collection less about falling in love than about renegotiating it after it's already gone wrong once.
