Comedy And Satire

These titles keep circling the same trick: taking something that should be uncomfortable — family strain, mortality, scandal, monstrous bureaucracy, an ex who won't stay dead — and running it through a comic engine set somewhere between affectionate and unhinged. Several lean into full absurdist parody (spoofing horror, superheroes, teen movies, detective fiction), while others use dark comedy as a scalpel on marriage, fame, or grief, but almost none play it straight-faced sincere or straight-faced grim. What links them is that warmth and chaos are never far apart — the jokes come from real stakes, and the heart usually survives the mayhem.
