What holds the group together is never raw competence but loyalty and running jokes, so the plots move less on suspense than on the pleasure of watching an odd little band bicker, laugh, and stick together anyway. Even when goblins, wizards, or wartime peril show up, the tone stays sunny, the stakes stay soft, and the ending is never really in doubt.
