Cold War Creatures and Paranoia
Nearly every entry here traces the same nervous line from laboratory to monster: radiation, gamma rays, or unchecked experimentation birth something that shouldn't exist, and a scientist or reporter has to chase it down before it spreads. The isolated settings recur too — frozen wastes, mountain observatories, small towns, underwater depths — as if the creature can only be contained by keeping the world small and watched. Even the outliers that jump decades or genres keep circling back to that same atomic-age unease: something man-made has gotten loose, and no one in charge can be fully trusted to stop it.
